Ever heard of a Relais & Châteaux property? I hadn’t until I was whisked away to the charming Massachusetts suburb of Lexington. Perfectly nestled just 15-miles outside of the city, the Inn at Hastings Park is the only one of its kind in the Boston area.
The site of the first battle of the American Revolution in 1775, Lexington is still known as “The Birthplace of American Liberty.” Historic elements mixed with contemporary American designs, the Inn at Hastings elegantly reflects the neighborhood’s past.
Spanning across three 19th-century buildings, the Inn is exactly what you’d expect of a traditional New England home. Warm, inviting, and a front-porch that’s begging to be admired.
The Inn at Hastings Park is the perfect getaway for those seeking relaxing solitude just outside of the city. Enjoy a morning coffee on the porch, indulge in high-tea, or participate in a cooking class; the team have created a haven for every type of traveler.
A personality of their own, the 22 guest rooms and suites are similar in location but different in design. Printed wallpapers mix with soft neutrals and color pops. Rooms exude comfort through interior design choices; plush carpeting, soft couches, unique artwork.
Staying in the superior king room, I was more than comfortable as a solo traveler. The robin-egg blue bed frame perfectly complemented the blue-patterned wallpaper. All rooms feature award winning design elements, Molton Brown amenities, and luxurious Matouk linens.
Intimate dining settings ensure guests feel a part of the Inn at Hastings Park family during every part of their stay. The flavors of New England are beautifully portrayed in every bite at Town Meeting Bistro; Yankee Pot Roast, Arctic Char, Clam Chowder, Scallop Rolls.. Showcasing local suppliers in the best way possible.
For a taste of nature, the Culinary Garden and INNgloo Wonderland are a solace tucked between the Inn’s main building and restored barn. In partnership with Classic Wine Imports, the al fresco experience features the best flavors of New England, paired with sparkling wines from Schramsberg Vineyards. Just an example of the many activations, guests can look forward to an array of activities from bird watching to cooking classes.
